Imran Hakim, CEO, Hakim Group

Imran Hakim is chief executive and founder of Hakim Group - one of the UK’s most acquisitive companies. It’s recently become the second largest optical group in the UK, thanks to Imran’s proven industry-leading acquisition model – he adds a new practice to his portfolio every two days.

Hakim Group is redefining optics by pushing the boundaries of what can be achieved by independent opticians and audiologists. Imran currently owns and operates more than 500 practices across the UK, Ireland and Channel Islands and employs over 4000.

Imran is also one of BBC Dragons’ Den’s greatest success stories. In 2007, his award-winning iTeddy secured £140,000 investment from Peter Jones and Theo Paphitis, and he went on to enjoy worldwide distribution deal in 45 countries.

Building an unbeatable strategy for 2026 – what will it take?

Peak season may be dominating internal conversations right now but make no mistake, 2026 is just around the corner and incoming fast. And just like every year before it, those new 12 months won’t look like the retail landscape we know today.

Each new year presents a reset, and a chance to build on the lessons you’ve learned. From hyper personalisation, the blurring of physical and digital, further advancements in AI and automation and supply chain shifts to evolving consumer demographics and sky-high expectations, the world of retail never stops moving.

That’s why Retail Gazette, in partnership with Zebra, Quinyx and Akamai, are hosting this boardroom breakfast, bringing together senior leaders to share insight and stress-test their readiness for the next wave of disruption.

If you want to ensure that 2026 starts on the right footing, and that you’re ready for anything, this event is for you.

"I find these events insightful to understand where other businesses are at the cutting edge, it's also great to give confidence as to where we are as a business at this time. I come away with new connections each time but also new ideas of things we can do to improve ourselves commercially, for our colleagues and most importantly for our customers. "
